On Friday, November 6th. I received a text message saying Gimme Da Lute was put down, As soon as I saw Gimme was put down, I started to cry my eyes out, I haven't seen him since May, and next month I was going to see him and give him all the kisses I could. I never thought I would get a message telling me my boy was put down, It feels like yesterday he was racing in his first start and I was cheering him on.
Getting to be in the paddock on Kentucky Derby Day this year for the... Pat Day Mile, was an amazing memory for me, he didn't win, he finished 3rd. It's okay, I never would of thought I would be in the paddock on Derby day with one of my favorite horses.
Sunday after the derby, Getting to meet my boy in person, I will never forget walking up to him and him trying to nibble my camera and then Nibble my hair, I was giving him so many hugs and kisses.
May 16th, Preakness Day, I got to be in the winner circle area to for him, The whole day all I was really excited for was to cheer my sweet boy on. He ended up finishing 3rd. I was beyond proud of him still.
The Los Al Derby is one of my favorite races he's been in, a good friend of mine called me because I couldn't watch the race, She put the phone on speaker and she had her TV turned up all the way and we both started to scream at the top of our lungs and when I heard he crossed the wire first I started jumping for joy and got all excited.
The Real Good Deal stakes is my favorite race he was in. Around the turn he was pulling away and I was watching the race and I all said was, Oh My Gosh, He's pulling away, Look at my boy fly. He's flying. He ended up winning by 12 1/4 lengths
His last racing start was the El Cajon stakes at Del Mar. He won that,
He ended up winning top three-year-old colt of the summer meet at Del Mar.
This horse meant so much to me, and I will never forget him, He will always be my babe and beast. My Big bay beast.
I love you Gimme Da Lute, Thank you for the memories I will always love you..
